Lincoln Ribbon Bench

An exterior stainless steel bench for a private residence in Massachusetts. The free flowing shape is structural yet inviting, as much sculpture as furniture, not to mention a slide for the kids. A loose sketch became a model, the model became the blue print for a full scale paperboard form, and the form then became the template to build the framework of the bench off of. The compound structure is built piece by curved piece, gaining strength as it grows.
